How To Play Strands
The New York Times’ Strands puzzle is a variation on the traditional word search. The puzzle is currently in beta so it’ll remain if there are enough people who are playing it each day.
There’s a brand new game called Strandsto play each day. The game will provide you with a 6-by-8 grid that is composed of alphabets. The objective is to locate the words with something in common. you’ll have a clue of what the theme is. If you discover the word that is a theme the word will be highlighted in blue.
It is also necessary to locate an additional word, which is known as the spangram. This will reveal what the words share. The spangram is a link between two opposite edges of the screen. While the words used for the theme may not be an appropriate name however, the spangram could be a valid name. If you spot that spangram it’ll stay visible in the yellow.
Every letter is utilized in the context of one of the words and in the spangram. The letters can be connected vertically or horizontally as well as diagonally and you can switch directions within the word. If you’re playing using a touchscreen, double-tap the letter you’ve just used to submit your guess.
