Nintendo Switch 2 has the potential to be a huge success. In the past, I’ve noticed that my interest in the latest consoles has diminished quite significantly. There are many reasons behind this and I’m sure that I could attribute some of it on Microsoft’s disappointing Xbox One reveal back in 2013. However, there’s another factor: I’m a grown-up now and I do not have the time or money to spend on the couch playing games every day.
However, it’s the Nintendo Switch 2 is an entirely different story. Although I didn’t have any negative feelings towards Nintendo’s PS5 Pro prior to its launch earlier this year, I’m really excited for it’s arrival of Switch 2.. Not only because it’s overdue and I’m tired of Nintendo waiting for its turn and dragging its feet, but also because I believe I’m going to have a blast of playing the game.
In truth, it’s the most excited I’ve ever been about an Xbox 360 since the introduction of the Xbox 360 back in 2005.
The Xbox 360 launch was the final great console launch
It was when the Xbox 360 was first unveiled …. Wow, that was more than 19 years ago. It’s insane to consider considering it was just two console generations back. It was an enormous leap in the right direction compared to Xbox or PS2 regarding gameplay and graphics and the fact that it provided more possibilities for connectivity and gaming onlinethat’s something that Microsoft actually did deliver on.
Perhaps it’s because of the fact that I was just 14 at the time that the Xbox 360 first released, and cynicism still hadn’t disappeared from the clouds of childhood wonder in my head. It could also be that the subsequent console releases have been pretty awful.

It’s true that the Xbox One launch is quite perhaps the most disappointing console release since Sega Saturn, while the PS4 was more focused on not offending gamers by imposing nonsense restrictions or statements from the executive.
Now, we’re at the launch of Xbox Series X and PS5 in 2020, and they sort of slipped by me. There was plenty of talk on social media about the however, after having a look at the features both consoles had to offer, they certainly didn’t feel like essential features. In fact, the constantly varying supply problems was the single most fascinating aspect of both consoles at the time.
The reality that there was an enormous gap between the generations and up to eight years in some instances, didn’t aid matters. I remember being angry in the year 2011 since it was the last console we had as 2005 to 2006 and there was no evidence of a brand new console coming. Naturally, this year’s Xbox One launch was even more disappointing because of this.
In the case of the original Nintendo Switch 2, I was definitely intrigued by the possibilities Nintendo could offer. However, I had never owned the Nintendo console before, or being awed by what you could call the Wii U was trying to be, I felt like I could only view from a distance, at least for a while. It’s now the year and it’s still the only console that I use with any regularly.
The Switch’s multi-faceted nature is its main strength.
Despite some hiccups in the console industry Nintendo’s handhelds have always been of the highest quality. They always felt underpowered in comparison to home video game consoles (or gaming PCs) and, as a result, they usually attracted the most interest when I was home.
The Switch has changed everything. Although it’s not as powerful as the consoles from Microsoft or Sony offer, but it has a lot to provide, but even in 2017, but it did have something that larger consoles did not have -the ability to move. The past was when playing the most recent Zelda game was a matter of being tied to the TV however, the Switch 2 allowed it was possible to experience Breath of the Wild in a plane, or at the back of the back of a Starbucks without any problems.
The console was one could be carried around the world, and I bought the Switch to make the most of the. With the prospect of being with my family at their home in a place with little internet connectivity and no mobile signal, I was in need of something to pass the time. There’s only a limit to the amount of Christmas television and family gatherings I could handle before I went insane.
In fact, even when you’re in your home, the ability to grab a Switch from your living room and play while lying on your the bed is an exciting experience. It quickly grew to the point that I spent the majority of my time playing with my Switch using a handheld.
At this point, I’m still not sure if I’ve ever played my Switch on my TV since I completed Tears of the Kingdom sometime around the middle of the year. If it’s not charging my device and my Switch dock is reportedly ideal for accumulating dust.
That’s the reason I’m eager to own Switch 2. Switch 2. It sounds like we’ll see more of the similar.
Nintendo Switch 2 doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel.
Despite the Switch having been around since the middle of 2017, Microsoft and Sony haven’t yet attempted to replicate the features it has. Yes, both consoles offer Remote Play and cloud gaming capabilities, but Sony launched its PlayStation Portal to assist with this. After spending a considerable amount of time on in both PS5 or Xbox Series X remotely, it’s not even anywhere near the same as playing with the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo’s method is a hell of a lot more flexible due to the fact that it doesn’t require an internet connection in order for operation.
The leaks of design leaks that have suggested there’s a good chance that Switch 2 won’t be changing the user experience significantly. These reports suggest this console will appear similar to its predecessor although with a few tweaks like bigger displays, magnetic Joy-Cons and maybe the addition of new buttons. This is precisely what I was hoping for from Nintendo’s successor.
There are a myriad of possibilities Nintendo Switch 2 could have screwed up the successor to the Switch. It’s only necessary to look at the reaction for Wii and the Wii or Wii U to see that one generation of success does not assure that the sequel is going to be a success. It’s my hope that, by ensuring to keep the same strengths of the original Switch and providing an upgrade in battery life and performance The Switch 2 will sell exactly as well as the first. This should certainly suffice to convince me into buying the Switch pretty soon.
